October Means Completion at DC, HS Creek Crossing and New Digital Projectors
The new classrooms at Delta Center are finished and in use. This view is down the new hallway and the classrooms are located to the left side. The lockers at the right are new additions and ensure that all DC students now have access to a locker.
The Grand Ledge High School Creek Crossing is now finished and in use. The new bridge provides improved safety including sidewalks on both sides, two-lane and two-way traffic as well as improved lighting.
Mr. Jim Dillon is tagging the new digital projectors before they are distributed.
This new instructional technology is possible through the 2007 Academic Bond. Now, every teacher at GLPS will have ready access to a digital projector.
Ms. Rebecca Odajima is signing out a digital projector for her classes in the band program at Beagle Middle School.

New windows at Delta Center
New windows are being installed at select locations in Delta Center, Greenwood, Holbrook, Neff and Wacousta elementary schools. The windows pictured above are at Delta Center. The tinting will help to cut down on bright glare and when opened they provide a fire escape route. They have double panes of glass, making them energy efficient.

Delta Center progress
The new classrooms at Delta Center have their interior walls built.
The parking area, under construction, at Delta Center is viewed from across Canal Road. A new island in the parking lot has been created.
- New parking lot organization at Delta Center –
The new Delta Center parking area will require everyone to learn about changes in the traffic flow. - The north end of the parking lot will be for parents dropping off their students and for parent parking.
- The south end of the parking lot will have a lane for buses only. Staff will also park at the south end of the parking lot.
Holbrook parking area and A/C system progress
The area next to the current parking lot is prepared for a paved addition of approximately 36 parking spaces.
In classrooms and in the kitchen area, workers install the new A/C system. Greenwood, Neff and Delta Center elementaries are having the same A/C work done. (Willow Ridge and Wacousta have A/C systems in place.)

Projects Advance in July
At Greenwood Elementary, old univents are removed from classrooms to prepare for new vertical air conditioning units. After this summer, A/C will be in all GLPS classrooms. The new units will be quieter (better for studying), more energy efficient and provide a better distribution of air in classrooms.
Ceiling work at Delta Center, Greenwood, Holbrook and Neff includes installing chilled water lines for the A/C system and some duct work.

Delta Center begins to look very different!
In the picture at the top, workers are focused on the area that was formerly paved and used as a play space for students at Delta Center elementary. Now that school is out for summer break, the foundation for the two new classrooms will be built here.
The site in the lower picture is just east of Canal Road. Here, the earth is being moved and mounded in preparation for expanding the parking area for the school.
